Independence Day of Georgia
On May 26, the Embassy of Georgia to Japan organized a reception to celebrate Georgia’s Independence Day.
At the reception, the Georgian anthem was performed by Giorgi Babuadze, a Georgian musician living in Japan. As part of the event, the Yamashirogumi ensemble presented Georgian polyphony to the guests.
The invited guests were addressed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Teimuraz Lezhava, the Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Hisashi Matsumoto, the Minister of Justice of Japan and Secretary General of the Georgia-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Keisuke Suzuki, the Minister of Digital Transformation of Japan and member of the Georgia-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Masaaki Taira, and the Chairman of the Georgia-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former Ambassador of Japan to Georgia, Tadaharu Uehara.
The invited guests were presented with the works of Georgian designers at the event. Georgian wine and dishes were served at the reception.
The reception was attended by: Japanese politicians, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Japan, compatriots living in Japan, and representatives of local business and cultural circles.
