President Salome Zourabichvili proposed the staging of a Georgian opera during her meeting with representatives of the Japan Arts company in Tokyo. The company has been promoting Japanese culture and holding cultural events around the world for more than 40 years.
President Zourabichvili and Mr. Jun-ichi Nihei, CEO of Japan Arts, discussed the cultural ties and how to deepen those ties between Georgia and Japan.
“I had the nice opportunity to get acquainted with a piece from the Georgian opera during our discussion on opera and ballet. We are working now with Georgian soloists, including the great pianist Eliso Virsaladze and wish to develop and deepen our ties in this field,” said Jun-ichi Nihei.
