On March 22, 2019 an event with Georgian and French cuisine and Georgian Wine was held in “Gakushikaikan”. An event was organized by National Wine Agency of Georgia, Georgian Wine Association and Embassy of Georgia to Japan. “Gakushikaikan” is an union of seven major national universities (Tokyo University, Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Kyushu University) established in 1928. The organization has been created in order to deepen communication and friendship between above mentioned universities and organize different events.
During an event Charge D’Affaires of Embassy of Georgia, Archil Machavariani delivered welcome speech for the distinguished guests. In his speech Mr. Machavariani spoke about Visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Japan, held in March 2019, Exhibition "Georgia Homeland of Wine", Georgian cuisine, wine and culture.
The event was attended by members of the organization and representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Georgian and French dishes were prepared by the director and chef of the “Gakushikaikan”, Masaru Osaka and the famous Georgian chef, Tekuna Gachechiladze.
